LOVE WHERE WE LIVE

LOVE WHERE WE LIVE

When Epsom Vineyard was planted, we were determined to make a difference in our town. Love is a verb - so by doing practical things, we hope that we show God’s love to the people of Epsom and surrounding areas. Our first project was transforming a garden for a family who needed some help - we did this together with the family over a number of weekends.

Since Epsom Vineyard started, we have: transformed gardens and decorated rooms for people needing some support; walked and prayed for businesses, schools, local services, nightlife and more in our town; hosted a BBQ for Ukrainian families and their host families; picked up litter whilst jogging (aka plogging); teamed with local groups to bring life to the gardens at Bourne Hall; blessed families with hampers at Christmas; given away advent calendars and easter eggs; created an online Big Carol Sing during covid; and more…

We also run courses such as CAP and Alpha, a weekly toddler group, events and socials with the aim of blessing our community in as many different ways as possible.

Ukranian welcome BBQ

Two of our church members volunteered at a summer school for Ukrainian refugees which was run by Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network. One of those church members just happens to have an incredible gift of hospitality, and together we organised this wonderful afternoon of food and fun to bless the Ukrainian and host families.

BOURNE HALL Clear up with Ewell Changemakers

Over a number of months on our Community Sundays, we teamed up with Ewell Changemakers to bring life to the gardens at Bourne Hall. We cleared leaves, tidied paths, planted a Mothering Sunday bulb garden and bee-bombed a border! It’s been wonderful to see the difference that has been made.

A weekend of decorating

This was a contact from the Besom Project. The room needed some serious love! A weekend of filling, sanding, painting walls and woodwork made the world of difference for one child. Another organisation provided a carpet. It’s amazing what can be done when a few people put in a few hours each! We think it turned out well.

Garden Transformation

This was one of the first things we did when we started Epsom Vineyard back in 2018, so although it’s a while ago now, it was significant for us as a church, and something we look back on with love. We initially made contact through the Besom Project, and spent a number of sunny Sunday mornings clearing, painting and planting. We still see the lady who’s garden it is!
